Linn A. Duesterbeck, MAI
President and principal of the company, Linn currently holds both the MAI and SRA designations from the Appraisal Institute. He was awarded the SRA (Senior Residential Appraiser) designation in 1975 at age 24, then the youngest designated member of the Society of Real Estate Appraisers. A life long resident of the Janesville area, Linn graduated from Janesville Craig High School in 1969 and graduated from Milton College in 1973 with academic honors in both Business and Real Estate. In his long Appraisal career Linn has been engaged in nearly every conceivable type of real property appraisal including hundreds of atypical properties throughout Wisconsin. Linn has also served on many Appraisal Institute committees including being appointed to the Wisconsin Real Estate Appraisal Board from 1990-1998, serving as President during the 1994-1995 session. Governor Thompson awarded Linn with the Certificate of Commendation for his efforts and commitment to excellence and in 2005 he received a letter of congratulations from the Appraisal Institute for 30 years of membership excellence. Linn has also been involved in various committees that were instrumental in providing the basic structuring for licensing and certification of real estate appraisers in Wisconsin in the 1980’s. Linn started his appraisal business as Modern Appraisal Services in 1973, a full service, residential and commercial appraisal company. He then sold the residential division and formed L. A. Duesterbeck & Associates, Inc., a predominately non-residential appraisal company, in 2000. Linn has experienced most all facets of the real estate industry, including development, sales, leasing and of course appraisals.
Lauri J. Maldonis-Janesville
Lauri J. Maldonis has been engaged in the real estate appraisal profession since August, 1992 as an associate appraiser, elevating to Wisconsin Certified Residential Appraiser in September 1994 and in February of 2000 became a Wisconsin Certified General Appraiser. Most recently, Ms. Maldonis received her State of Illinois Certified General Appraiser license, she is in the very advanced stages of receiving her MAI designation. Ms. Maldonis’ experience includes a range of assignments of residential and non-residential properties including industrial properties, various commercial facilities, all types of vacant land including recreational, agricultural, development and multi-family properties. She has also has experience in appraising special purpose properties such as assisted living centers, golf courses and hotels. Ms. Maldonis is a lifelong resident of Beloit, Wisconsin. She spent the first two years of her four year college career at the University of Wisconsin-Madison transferring to the University of Wisconsin-Stout where she graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management.
Troy J. Kruser-Janesville
Troy has been active in the appraisal industry since 2003 when he began his career with L. A. Duesterbeck & Associates, Inc. Since beginning his appraisal career, Mr. Kruser has worked with various forms of typical to complex properties both existing and proposed including golf courses, industrial use, single and multi-tenant commercial facilities, single and multi-family residential properties, income producing properties, various use vacant land properties including properties of historical significance. Mr. Kruser also heads our government aquisition and conservation easement division. Prior to joining the company he attended the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater where he graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a major in finance and earned academic honors over his last five semesters. Throughout college he was active in various clubs and organizations and was recognized by his professors for his ability in public speaking. During his last two years of college Mr. Kruser divided his time between being a full time student and interning with an insurance and investment office working with various forms of investments including life insurance, annuities, mutual funds stocks and 401(k) plans. After graduating from college Mr. Kruser began his career in banking, developing a background for the financing aspect of real estate. Mr. Kruser is active in the community taking part in various events, fundraising activities, softball and basketball leagues and has coached various youth sport teams.
Weston J. Robertson-Janesville
Mr. Robertson began his career at L. A. Duesterbeck & Associates, Inc. as an appraiser trainee in 2009 after graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Mr. Robertson obtained his Bachelor in Business Administration Degree from the Wisconsin School of Business with majors in Marketing, Finance and Investment Banking, Risk Management and Insurance and Real Estate, becoming one of the first in its history to do so. During this time he was also very active with the school's Finance and Investment Society and Real Estate Clubs and participated in several of their educational trips to various parts of the Country. Mr. Robertson previously worked in Madison as a campus marketing representative and in Green Bay as a marketing manager. Mr. Robertson is working under the direct supervision of Linn A. Duesterbeck, MAI in pursuit of his Wisconsin Certified General Appraisal license.
Benjamin J. Wollin-Appleton
Mr. Wollin has been active in the real estate industry since May 2004, when he began working for a large commercial developer in Madison, Wisconsin. Prior to joining the company he attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a Major in Real Estate and Urban Land Economics, and Marketing. Throughout college he was active in the Real Estate Club and gave guest lectures to the introductory real estate course on credit scores and credit repair. Upon graduation, Mr. Wollin accepted full time employment from his internship in Madison, Wisconsin. Mr. Wollin was promoted to Senior Analyst before accepting employment with L.A. Duesterbeck and Associates. While working in Madison Mr. Wollin performed market research, financial modeling, valuation services and due diligence for various property types including office, retail, mixed-use residential, and vacant land in Madison, Wisconsin and industrial and office type uses in Mesa, Arizona.
Eric J. Kawski-Appleton
Mr. Kawski has been active in the appraisal industry since 2005 when he began his career at a small residential and commercial appraisal firm in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. While learning the real estate and appraisal industry, Mr. Kawski also attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point where he graduated in May 2008 with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Accounting. In conjunction with his schooling and internship, Mr. Kawski also achieved his CNA license and worked full time at his family's restaurant as their assistant kitchen manager. Upon graduation, Mr. Kawski took a full-time position with an appraisal firm where he performed various segments of both residential and commercial appraisals, as well as market research.
Our Support Staff
Our support staff has over 50 years of administrative experience starting with Jeannie Majorowicz who has worked for Mr. Duesterbeck in the appraisal industry for more than 19 years. Lonnette Sullivan joined the office staff in 2007 and Amanda Geary came on board in 2009. Kristy Relien heads our Appleton office and is assisted by April Welbes. The support staff does an excellent job assisting the appraisers in supplying our clients with a quality and timely product.
